Pet Boarding Requirements - A Country Home Canterbury

The welfare of your pet is extremely important to us, and we want to ensure we can provide a safe, comfortable and hygienic environment for all our guests

Pet Vaccinations

All owners are required to produce a Vaccination certificate upon check-in which clearly states that your cat and/or dog is fully protected for the whole period of boarding. This certificate must be within the past 11 months of at least 14 days prior to boarding.

• Cats must be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis, Rhinotracheitis and Calcivirus.

• Dogs are required to be vaccinated against:

         -Canine Distemper

         -Parainfluenza 

         -Parvovirus

         -Canine Cough

• Dogs and Cats must not be wormed closer than 7 days before arrival date. Please use a vet-approved broad spectrum worm treatment.

• Dogs and Cats must be free from all external parasites including fleas.

Veterinary care: If any guest requires veterinary care, the pet owner will meet all relative costs at check-out time. PLEASE advise us of any medical or behavioral issues. We will endeavour to contact you personally or your emergency contact person if any medical care is required. We use our very competent local vet. (North Canterbury Veterinary Clinic)

If you wish to board your pet during busy times such as public holiday weekends or school holidays, please book well in advance.

General information

• We invite owners to bring any special bedding or toys from home to minimize any separation anxiety. We aim to make your treasured pet's stay with us as pleasant as possible. No beanbags please.
• We reserve the right to have any dog (which either causes undue stress to others or barks persistently) removed by the agreed contact person. Please note this is always the last resort.
• If holiday plans change, we request you advise us of an early or delayed arrival or departure of your pets.
• We reserve the right to make suitable arrangements for any pet left in our care 14 days after the due pick-up date if no contact has been made by the owner or the owner's contact person.
• There will be no drop-offs or pick-ups on Christmas or New Year's Day.

Our daily hours are from 8 - 9.30am and from 4-6pm. Or by arrangement.
